What Is Counselling and What Can A Counsellor Do For Me?

Counselling provides a safe, confidential and nurturing space in which to explore your feelings, issues and questions. The client / counsellor relationship, or 'therapeutic alliance', provides a crucible in which to explore and re-shape your internal world.

The intimacy of friends and family can be supportive. However, it may not be available, or even appropriate. Talking to a trained professional adds an extra dimension to this intimacy. It allows for the possibility of examining our emotional responses to understand what drives us, why we do what we do, and why we feel what we feel. This understanding brings the possibility of choice and of change on a deeper level.

You may have a specific issue you want to address or you may simply want to explore and see what else there is. Counselling can provide the support you need.

We shall not cease from

exploration and the end of all

our exploring will be to arrive

where we started... and know the

place for the first time.
